Mandviwalla, Italian envoy discuss atrocities in IOK

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Saleem Mandviwalla and Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, Stefano Pontecorvo Tuesday discussed atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and cross-border situation between Pakistan and India.Saleem Mandviwalla and Italian Ambassador during a meeting also discussed Italian trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan.Saleem Mandviwalla said that currently business between the two countries is worth a mere 1.5 billion US$, which needed to be enhanced.Stefano Pontecorvo said that trade between the two countries has doubled, since he was appointed as ambassador.Deputy Chairman Senate assured the Ambassador of facilitating Italian businesses in Pakistan and said that it will go a long way in strengthening ties between the two countries.Mandviwalla emphasized the need to extend parliamentary exchanges between Italy and Pakistan and said that a Parliamentary Friendship Group will visit the Italian Parliament soon.
