Pakistan, US hold talks on Afghan peace process

ISLAMABAD: Talks between Pakistan and United States have begun at the Foreign Office in Islamabad to discuss progress on Afghan reconciliation process.The Pakistani delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua while US delegation is being headed by United States Special Representative for Afghanistan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad. The United States Special Representative for Afghanistan reconciliation will also have separate meetings with the civil and military leadership during his visit to the country.Meanwhile, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad called on Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad.During the meeting, matters pertaining to bilateral interest including progress on peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan came under discussion.
