RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Zalmay Khalilzad, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, on Friday.Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in press release that the two had met at the General Headquarters (GHQ) upon Khalilzad’s visit where the two went into discourse about issues of regional security as well as the presently undergoing Afghanistan reconciliation course. During the meeting, the COAS received acknowledgments from the US envoy for Pakistan’s determinations to preserve harmony in the region. Khalilzad had earlier met with foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi giving him an insight on the development in the Afghan peace process. Moreover, he apprised FM Qureshi regarding the progress of in Doha peace talks as well. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader in turn stated that the country wishes for Afghanistan’s peace and strength that will be unswervingly positive for the human and economic development for the country.
