South Korea announces increase in Pakistan?s Labor Quota for year 2019
SEOUL: Ministry of Employment and Labour South Korea has increased Pakistan’s Labour quota for 2019 from 900 per year to 1000 per year. Earlier Korean Ministry of Employment and Labour had increased Pakistan’s labour quota for 2018 from 700 per year to 900 per year.Korean Ministry of Employment and Labour determines labour quota of 16 partner countries including Pakistan every year under Employment Permit System based on the partner country’s performance during the preceding year in 6 factors.Pakistani diasporas in South Korea celebrated the increase in Pakistan’s labour quota consecutively for the second year with great fervor. They posted messages of congratulation on social media appreciating efforts of Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi and Community Welfare Attaché.Muhammad Shafiq Hiader Virk who was posted as Community Welfare Attaché in the Embassy of Pakistan in 2016 through a competitive selection process conducted by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is particularly popular among Pakistani diasporas and workers in South Korea. He is credited with improving Pakistan’s performance in various determinants of labour quota. Mudassar Ali Cheema, President Pakistan Business Association Korea, told the News that the team of HE Rahim Hayat Qureshi and Community Welfare Attaché is very effective. Pakistan Business Association Korea announced a grand celebration to celebrate the invaluable services of Community Welfare Attaché Muhammad Shafiq Hiader Virk for Pakistan and Pakistanis and invited Pakistanis from all over Korea to join in the celebrations.
