NAB questions CM Murad in fake accounts case

ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Monday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to face the investigations in fake accounts case.The chief minister was called to appear before the investigation team on 26th March but he requested for a change in schedule which was approved.Talking to media persons later, Murad Ali Shah said it is all mala fide and despite court judgement that the Joint Investigation Team findings against me are inconclusive I have been summoned by the anti-graft body.When asked whether he is satisfied with the proceedings, he responded by saying that he was here for the first time.I have assured the NAB investigators of my full cooperation, Murad said.‘We have already raised objections on the transfer of the case to Rawalpindi while the alleged crime was committed in Sindh.’The CM’s questioning related to the Thatta and Dadu sugar mills continued for almost 90 minutes.The JIT report alleged that the provincial government sold Thatta Sugar Mills to the Omni Group for Rs127.5 million in 2013, against the market price of Rs716.11 million.Murad Ali Shah as the finance minister approved the transaction.
