Ex-IAS officer Shah Faesal backs PM Imran Khan's Nobel Peace Prize nomination

Former officer of Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Shah Faesal endorsed on Saturday the ongoing petition for Prime Minister Imran Khan to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The ex IAS topper in light of PM Imran Khan’s peace gesture of releasing captured Indian pilot Abhinandan endorsed the campaign of him getting awarded the prize adding that it could significantly change the country’s position in the region.“A Nobel Peace Prize to @ImranKhanPTI could drastically change the way Pakistan operates in the South Asia region. IK has already raised the bar for leadership in the region, and the Prize could encourage him to further nurture the India-Pak relationship. He deserves the prize,” he said on Twitter.Regarding his endorsement, Indian journalist Barkha Dutt while criticizing his decision of giving support to Khan, asked for an explanation: “You are a smart man, how is it smart for you to get up and say let’s give Imran Khan the Nobel Peace Prize,” she stated.“This gesture of releasing Wing Commander Abhinandan, it’s not a small gesture at a time when we were expecting that a nuclear disaster is going to happen,” he stated. The first IAS officer from Kashmir goes on to say: “This prime minister stands up and says we are going to release Wing Commander Abhinandan. It's not just at that level, it’s at the level of humanity as well. We have not seen such gestures happening of late in our subcontinent.”“My upbringing and education tells me that we have to look at the humanity in the enemy,” he adds.
