Speaker NA Asad Qaiser says NAB informed him before Shahbaz Sharif's arrest
ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar on Wednesday said the government would work for supremacy of constitution as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly believe in rule of law.Talking to a private news channel, Qaiser said the government wanted national consensus for strengthening economy of the country.The speaker said NAB had informed him before the arrest of the opposition leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif.He said the party leadership had appreciated him for issuing production orders of the opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif.The government would not act against its manifesto or merit policy, he added.To a question, he said the parliament was not a forum for making noise and raising slogans against each other but it was the place to address national issues.He said the chairman of election rigging committee would be appointed from the government side and that the matter would be solved in the first week of November.To another query, he said the government and opposition both agreed to bring amendments in NAB laws.He said he had full support of Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was fully determined for making new Pakistan.The government should avoid any step which show prejudice against opposition, he said, adding all the reservations and problems of the allies parties should be resolved on priority basis.
